Roads suitable for caravans

Q: We will be visiting Norway this summer and hope to tour with our small caravan in the Fjord area of Norway.
We are finding it difficult to obtain a map showing roads suitable for caravans. Though we know that roads are much improved since a visit in 1960, we are sure that on some routes caravavans will not be permitted or advised.
A: There is no need for such a map, simply because all main roads in Norway are suitable for caravans and motorcaravans. If you should like to challenge local mountain roads (or roads avoiding tunnels), it is advisable to contact the nearest tourist board, or your camping-host. But even Trollstigen (pic. - road 63) is safe for driving with a caravan.

Rent a caravan

Q: My wife and I are planning to visit Norway this summer; could you please inform us of the best place to rent a motorhome or caravan?
A: Please visit this web-site, containing the most of the Norwegian rental companies. (The site is in Norwegian, but you will find e-mail adresses and phone numbers, and they all communicate in english).
